Acerca del libro
In India wallah translates as worker. If you drive a taxi, you are a taxi wallah. If you sell fruit, you are a fruit wallah. Dhobi wallah is a laundry worker and so on. The most recognized is the chai wallah, one who sells tea. Wallah is a Hindi word and I have not found an equivalent word used in the same way in Sri Lanka. This series of photos is dedicated to the hardworking wallahs of both countries. Photos from 2004 to 2016 © Lou Walter Wilson Lou Walter Wilson lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
