Nostalgia is a feeling that Madison Palica thinks we all battle with, and it is completely defined by user experience. Meaning, you get to decide whether you look back on a moment with longing affection and gratitude or melancholy loneliness and regret.

She personally uses nostalgia as an action verb: Sometimes she can feel the deep, soul-yearning, longing for a moment before it even has the chance to become a memory. She feels nostalgia for the present moment.

And when she feels that feeling, she knows. Because her stomach twists, or her heart breaks, or she cries for no reason.
