My tropical abstracted color field landscapes or 'mindscapes' reveal my strong attraction to the creative imagination and intuitive painting, inspired from both memory and dreams.

I think of them as "color therapy".

Artist Bio Born in Brooklyn, New York, Ingrid Torjesen grew up drawing and painting, surrounded by the paintings of her Grandfather and Great Uncle, both Norwegian seascape painters. She studied Fine Art and Creative Writing at the H.S. of Art & Design in New York City, including intensive instruction in life drawing and painting classes in traditional oil painting techniques with Irwin Greenberg, achieving awards for Poetry and Fine Art. Ingrid moved to Montauk, New York in 1994, inspired by the natural beauty of the area.
