Acerca del libro
'I took photographs of the views of landscapes from different benches placed in memorial of people, which I decided to pair with an image of the plaque that was on the specific bench. I wanted the viewer to firstly see an ordinary, perhaps even mundane photograph, but then to see the plaque and build up an image in their minds about the person being remembered, taken from the landscape itself and the information on the plaque. I decided to take the photographs from behind the benches, framing the landscapes and suggesting the idea that we are only seeing into a small part of the persons life. I also decided to look at the idea of holding an image in our minds to remember a certain person, and the idea of these memories fading away over time, shown by the deterioration of the picturesque-quality of the landscapes and the quality of the plaques themselves.'
