The Catalyst for this Creation
A previous teacher once pointed out a thought provoking and worrying fact that has stayed in my mind for years now.
“You have to thank yourself lucky; Being British, white, male and having the ability to read and write puts you automatically in the top 5% of the world’s population”
The necessity of literacy is an easy point to argue but it is the creative aspect of writing that makes me passionate. Being able to read a persons’ artwork, their imagination, is the second best feeling in literature; the first, being the creation of your own story and putting your own mind down on paper or screen.
The aim for this book was to tie in the creative aspect of writing in collaboration with a fundraising idea that will contribute to the National Literacy Trust (http://www.literacytrust.org.uk/support) and University of Bristol Alumni foundation (http://www.bris.ac.uk/alumni/).
