Acerca del libro
Its easy to draw emotions from seemingly flat elements. Colors, light values, the streaming lines of shadows mixing with sharp objects. These are the principles that develop a honest photo that triggers some part of the brain to think, to feel.
When I look through old photographs, I remember.
When I take photographs, I smile.
My mother was a strong woman with weak ambitions. My honesty in retelling her character astonish many, for I do not patronize her nor exalt her. She had her forgivable flaws, as does everyone. While most people have chosen to forget even the most noticeable of faults, I refuse to follow. It does not make sense to erase those aspects which predominately mold the persona and image of an individual. Does this make my image of her more negative than others? Quite possibly, but at least my image of her can be told through honest photographs.
