My extended family has had an association with the Lake Scugog area since the 1930's and I have had a direct connection since the early 1940’s beginning as a toddler. While in one person's life this may be a significant period of time, in the real history of this area it is miniscule. In order to properly position today's reality, it is necessary to look to the past.

I have approached this challenge in the following ways:

1) Examined the area in light of the Geological past.

2) Looked at the history from a human perspective over the years.

3) Expounded upon the stories and reminiscences of Scugog Point, from the early days until more recent times.



Delving into the history of the area has been an education for me; I hope you enjoy the journey through time.
