This book contains a collection of new paintings of the Derbyshire landscape completed in 2010 plus selected paintings from 'Chatsworth Reflected' 2009 .
Also included are essays from Nobles most recent exhibitions at The Hart gallery in London.
Lewis Noble’s work draws on the diverse landscapes of the Peak District, Scotland, Wales and France. Creating clear, defined bodies of work, he explores his chosen subject through changing emotions, movement, light & colour.
Noble is particularly well known in Derbyshire and was the county’s artist in residence during 2001 as part of the Vickers Art Prize, when he produced paintings at four prominent locations around the county including Chatsworth. He returned to Chatsworth in 2009 spending the year creating a collection of paintings in response to the estate.
His work has been exhibited extensively and can now be found in some of Britain’s finest galleries. His paintings are in private and public collections around the world.

Lewis Noble has lived and worked in Derbyshire since 1996. Over this time he has built a reputation as one of central England’s foremost artists. His focus lies in the physical and emotional impact of the landscape on the senses and how it the experience of being in landscape effects us as human beings. The result is a body of work that speaks to the very heart of what it means to be part of the environment around us.
