Acerca del libro
This first thorough study of Seventeenth Century Hexham in Northumberland, based on exhaustive primary research, finds that - contrary to the views often expressed by contemporary visitors - it was a thriving market town. Anna Rossiter, who died in 2007, was a practiced historian and teacher, and undertook this study for her Masters thesis in 1997. It will appeal to all with an interest in the town's history as well to students of the early modern period in general.
