All My Relations offers a simple, unobtrusive, and somewhat innocent look at the Natural World, invoking what is there, its beingness in the fullness of its plurality, to speak for itself. Thus, the images herein are not referenced, footnoted, titled, indexed or explained.

With a light touch, Watson has aspired to be "out of the way" of the moments in which the images were composed within the frame and captured. Each shot represents a respectful search to reveal the "personae" in each individual subject, not just an impersonal rendering of an specimen from a given species. Subjects were approached and treated as persons with unique capacity to express their complexity, able to say "I am also here" in their particular way of showing up.

All My Relations is not a work intended to elevate Photography so much as to elevate and celebrate Life with the support of photographic tools. In these terms, All My Relations is both a representational and propositional work. That is, it represents the proposal constituted by the magic of the moment, and by the people of other species who are not understandably heard; and who cannot pick up a pen, a microphone, or press the shutter. In that proposal, there is little interference from the Author, whether in photographing or through post-production enhancements.

Indeed, Sam Watson has candidly sought, in intent, craft, and ethos, to lend himself to co-create with the Living Dance of The Light.
