Acerca del libro
This is the second book that celebrates different views of what is happening under the soles of our feet, or more precisely what I see when I look down and then photograph it. This might include the patterning of a carpet I’m standing, the shadow cast across a cement sidewalk, the shape of the inlay tile work on the floor, a fishpond, a train track, or the colors and textures of a simple street repair.
When these photos are reversed, flipped, and arranged together on a page, the shapes and forms that they create, at least for me, are mind-blowing. It is fascinating how even the most mundane and ordinary objects, those that we often take for granted and might just as easily ignore, are transformed into elaborate designs of exquisite beauty.
They remind me of the symmetrical patterns that one can see when looking into a kaleidoscope.
Rather than try to explain it the how’s and the why’s away, my advice is to sit back, turn the pages, and enjoy the reimagining that’s going on under your feet.

As an artist for over forty odd years, my biggest gig so far has been as the official White House Portraitist. During the past two years, I have had the privilege of painting our DearLeader over a couple dozen times looking his authoritarian best in all kinds of remarkable settings. And now, after much anticipation, I have finally assembled those paintings into a 48 page full-color book that includes personal commentaries, as well. It has been truly an inspiration to be so close and present with the man with the golden touch, who in every sense of the phrase, is Making America Great Again.
