Acerca del libro
In 1907 a few weekend sailors crew out of the National Yacht Club in Toronto Harbour aboard the "Elk". Together they camp along the shores of Lake Ontario, battle squalls, eat scrappy and meagre food, light explosives, and chase a rat around the ship, all the while waxing philosophical and quoting Shakespeare.

Charles "Chappy" Chapman journaled and photographed throughout his life, working his way around the world. A printer by trade, he was active in sailing on Lake Ontario and climbing in British Columbia in the early days when many mountains north of Vancouver had yet to be climbed or named. An ordinary man who had a life full of adventure, his stories and photos are presented here. Enjoy!
