Paul Wilson graduated with an Ergonomics degree from Loughborough University in 1972, and, later that year, he joined Kodak. Within a couple of years he had moved into his first IT-related role as a Needs Analyst acting as the interface between users and the Systems Department.
In 1977, he moved to Manchester, and spent a year as a Management Services consultant in a factory processing corn for food products. Eighteen months later, he joined the National Computing Centre in a role requiring him to seek out best practice in emerging Office Technologies, and to feed the knowledge back to UK organisations in the form of books, articles and talks.
In 1984, he joined CSC Computer Sciences Limited as a Consultant, and worked on a variety of assignments for large organisations. From 2001 to when he retired in 2012, he managed large outsourcing bids.
Since retiring, he has continued to investigate the innovative use of technology in the home, and records his activities in pwofc.com.
