Carlos Texca has been taking photographs for almost 45 years and has had numerous exhibits and publications of his work in the San Francisco Bay Area and Central America including the DeYoung Museum, The Mission Cultural Center, La Peña Cultural Center, and San Francisco State University.
Besides being a photographer, Carlos Texca is a university professor, cultural anthropologist, social researcher, published author, writer, traveler, AfroCuban priest of Yemayá, herbalist, and lover of Life.
Carlos Texca's images clearly demonstrate his special interest in portrait photography. His body of work includes photographs of women, families, experimental and documentary works, popular Latino culture, as well as photographs that reflect his love for nature.
