Sociologist, photographer, professor in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Worked in the establishment of first Refuge House for girl child sex workers in Istanbul; research project sponsored by UNICEF(1998-1999). Research; international level (UNICEF, UNOPS, ILO/IPEC, The Netherlands Institute of Social Care and Welfare, ECPAT, Oxford University, Refugee Studies Center, UK); national level (State Planning Organization, State Ministry Responsible from Women’s Affairs & Social Care, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Interior Affairs, Governance of Istanbul, Bar of Istanbul, NGOs). Received grants; International Visitors Programme Scholar, Department of State, Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs, USA; trained in Post Trauma Stress Disorder, was a consultant for UNFPA in Sudan on gender-based violence. Her research is documented visually with photojournalistic essays. She is accredited as an art photographer in 2009-2010 Art Diary International. Born in 1956, married, has a son.
