Bert was born in war-torn Europe, and there witnessed much upheaval, poverty and trauma. After arriving in Australia, he studied at Melbourne RMIT and Monash University and began producing instructional material for medical students, and the medical profession. This was broadcast on local television after hours. Later he wrote for newspapers and television, making instructional films and commercials. After establishing a film processing laboratory for the ABC and Monash University, technological changes to media production soon made film(cine) obsolete and (analogue) videotape being the replacement. (Now we have 8K digital)
For the last 10 years he has produced print material (books and newsletters) for the senior population, Men's Sheds, Monash and RSL. Until recently he produced a 20 page news letter SHEDaustralis both in print and electronic version.
