A native of Atlanta, Rick Parker spent most of his career as an art director working on large accounts like Coca-Cola, General Electric, Bordon, CSX Transportation, and TVA. He spent much of that time supervising broadcast and photography productions in Sydney, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Vancouver, Toronto, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, multiple islands in the Caribbean, and dozens of other cities around the United States. Rick entered his first major art exhibition in Nashville, Tennessee in 1993, where he was awarded Best in Category and Best in Show for his painting "Aunt Ruth's Farm." The show consisted of over 400 works from over 160 artists from around the Southeast. Before retiring in 2022 Rick worked as an illustrator with the LumiStella Company, where he worked as a concept artist for the Netflix animated Christmas special, "Elf Pets: Santa's Reindeer Rescue." Rick now lives in Florence, Alabama with his wife Pam, who is also an accomplished artist in her own right.
