Explorations in Fiber Art is a community of fiber artists from Northern Illinois/Southern Wisconsin who come together each year to create an exhibition inspired by a shared theme. Each artist brings a unique perspective and creative voice to the theme, resulting in a body of work as varied as the artists themselves.

Artistic growth, experimentation, and originality are at the heart of our community. Members support and encourage one another, coming together to share skills, spark ideas, explore fiber art techniques, and build lasting connections. While we begin with a common theme, our interpretations take remarkably different paths.

Explorations in Fiber Art grew out of the former Women’s Journeys in Fiber, carrying forward a commitment to artistic exploration, creativity, and community. Our work is exhibited at a variety of venues, beginning each year with Fine Art of Fiber, one of the longest running and most prestigious needle arts shows in the Midwest.
