ARTIST STATEMENT 03/06/16

The unique and often-colorful patterning themes in Constance Williams paintings are a rhythmic dialog endlessly re-imagined. Compressed air and a range of applicators shape her curvilinear forms and multiplicity of edges. A myriad of custom formulas of alcohol ink in transparent hues suggest pools of color at first and then the details keep emerging. Within each series there is a conversation; deviations of expanded and contracted elements from previous paintings over the past ten years continue her colorful story. Mostly self-taught, she is endlessly stimulated to experiment, originate, and employ new ways to use and combine mediums and substrates.painting alcohol ink on my Encaustic, and now paint pure alcohol ink on different surfaces.
