i am a painter, turned photographer, over the past four or five years. i studied painting at boston university and then moved to nyc after finishing a graduate degree in painting as well at american university. i continued to paint for several years after arriving in nyc, with the work becoming increasingly monochromatic. i transitioned to black and white photography, and more recently color photography, using a medium-format film camera, and feel the work is still about “seeing.” the images selected for the portfolios reflect my interests – interiors, street scenes, reverie. i have shown my paintings and photography in nyc from time to time, was awarded a penny mccall grant, and have been a resident at the macdowell colony several times.
