These are portraits of beautiful women... their long anonymous legs, emblazoned with their private stories, and identified by their tattoos and posture.
This series was shot on a plastic (medium-format) Diana+ camera, and blends fine-art with documentation, and modern tattoos with nostalgic technology. By considering more than the crisp and clean photography of tattoo documentation, "tattoos : legs : females" looks to find beauty in the more complex combination of tattoo + female + photography itself. And, by limiting the documentation to the backs of the legs, the personalities and identities of these subjects is even further distilled to the moments and stories they've chosen to inject beneath their skin.
