I love to bake.
Anyone who knows me will tell you that. My mother and grandmother have influenced me the most, and I still learn from them today. My family is known for making homemade bread among many other from-scratch goodies: cakes, frostings, cookies, candy... you could say we have a bit of a sweet tooth.
My grandma and I were talking recently about all the delicious homemade food we eat when our family gets together. Then an idea came to mind—how nice it would be to have all the recipes in one place so we could pass them down to everyone in the family. And so this cookbook got its start.
I wanted it to be a collection of our favorite recipes we enjoy together, along with the go-to recipes we use in our homes. Within a couple months, I quickly collected over 100 recipes–for more than just sweets–and started writing.
In addition to my love for baking, I also have a passion for design and photography. Being an Art Director at an advertising agency, I knew I wanted to design my own layout and photograph all the recipes. And I’ve always preferred cookbooks that have a photo of each recipe.
So, after two very long years and countless hours, I have created a work of art for my family to keep and enjoy for years to come.
I love good design and have an eye for pixel perfection. I work for Critical Mass, an interactive advertising agency, in Chicago, IL as an Art Director. I also dabble in digital photography and love to bake for my family and friends.
