Each of us experiences Marfa in our own way. For those who love company and entertainment, there’s plenty of that. Every day there’s something interesting to do, a concert, a reading, a party. But my own experience of Marfa, what first attracted me to the town, is the quiet—the restorative and mind-cleansing quiet. At times, the empty quiet streets make the town seem like your own private Marfa.
The photographs in this book are snapshots from my walks around Marfa since I moved here in 2004. I hope they’ll remind you of your own personal, individual experience of non-iconic Marfa.
