Based on his letters 'home' to his fiancee and parents, the author describes his experiences of life in work and leisure, of his time as CUSO-volunteer from Canada, as Farm Manager and eventually so much more, of a 25-family hill-tribal colony, the Paniyas, in the Nilgiri Hills of southern India in the mid 1960's.
