Award winning photographer Waldo Nilo has had an extensive career that has spanned over 40 years.
After immigrating from Chile in 1963, Nilo started his career taking the first photographs of the hippy movement in Los Angeles
including the first love-in in Griffith Park and the world famous “Freaks”. Nilo then served the United States as a Marine Combat Photographer
in the Vietnam War in 1968. After returning from the war Nilo published his first entertainment magazine "Arte"(based in San Francisco) .
He then created "Bananas" (based in Los Angeles) and "Oranges"(based in Orange County). Then Nilo moved to North County San Diego where he
has worked as a photojournalist for the Times Advocate then North County Times until 2008. Where he won over 50 awards in photojournalism.
Now Nilo is working on an anthology of his life works and expanding his vas collection of unique photographs.
