I met film director Runar Jarle Wiik by a coincidence in Thailand in 2009. He had already then done research for a documentary film about the Moken people since 2007. At the time I was living in South East Asia working as a diver and dive instructor. He was kind enough to invite me to participate in his film project "No word for worry", which I gladly accepted. The pictures in this book were taken in 2009, 2010 and 2012. Most of these are taken in Surin Islands but also some in the Merguyi archipelago and in the Moken village in Koh Payam, Ranong.
My role in Runars film project was mainly working as a diver so on my time off I was free to do some stills photography of the Moken. Even due to my limited photographic options and knowledge hope I managed to do some decent portraiture of these fine and genuine people in their surroundings.
