I grew up in McGehee, Arkansas, and I practiced cardiology in Fort Smith, Arkansas, from 1969 to 2003. Having majored in English at the University of Arkansas, I have enjoyed pursuing several reading and writing projects, including this collection of personal family recollections and more remote family historical information. My wife Mary and I have three children and seven grandchildren. Other interests include photography, tennis, and running.
