Roy A. Tangen started in photography at an early age. In fact he was first published in the New York Daily News at 14 years old. At the time he was the youngest ever to be published in a major daily newspaper on a regular basis. He was a "stringer" for many years while attending High School in New York City and worked full time for the Brooklyn Eagle. At 16 years old he was a staff photographer for the Brooklyn Eagle but press credentials could not be issued due to his age. In 1965 He became a Navy Photographer and photographed everything from portraits to plane crashes and recon in Viet Nam. His work has been published in; NY Daily News, Brooklyn Eagle, Life, NY Mirror, Stars & Stripes, Various Motorcycle Magazines, The National Enquirer and much more. His Photos have appeared on billboards in NY City's theater district, as well as in many books by various authors. In addition he has won several awards from exhibitions and has lectured and taught fashion and commercial photography.
