Antonio Miró-Montilla

Antonio Miró-Montilla was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. From 1956 to 1961 he studied architecture at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. After graduation he returned to Puerto Rico and worked as an architect.

In 1971 he was appointed professor at the School of Architecture of the University of Puerto Rico. From 1971 to 1978 he was Dean of the School of Architecture and from 1978 to 1985 he was Chancellor of the Río Piedras Campus of the University of Puerto Rico.

In 1979 he was awarded the Gold Medal of the Colegio de Arquitectos de Puerto Rico. He is also honorary member of the Sociedad de Arquitectos Mexicanos, the Colegio de Arquitectos de Brazil and the Sociedad Bolivariana de Arquitectos. He is included as Notable Alumni of the University of Notre Dame.

In 1998 he retired and moved to San Sebastián, Puerto Rico, where he actually lives and is dedicated full time to photography.
