Whilst living in Cambridgeshire for 13 years, I started drawing and painting. At first I joined a local adult education class in 1998 and was lucky enough to have a great tutor who helped, encouraged and inspired me enormously by giving me the confidence to experiment and make mistakes!

In 1999 I took a City and Guilds course in life drawing and sculpture at Stamford College, in Lincolnshire. Then in 2005, I decided to get serious and studied drawing at the ‘Princes Drawing School’ in Shoreditch, London. I continued with weekly life drawing classes in Stamford Arts Centre.

I moved to South Devon in the summer of 2012 and live in Teignmouth; close to the sea. Here as an artist I am spoilt by the many great and fascinating aspects of nature and an incredible purity of light..

How I work

My style is “fast and loose” and I use vibrant colours, which give life and movement to my paintings, with a sense of fun. I also use various media; oils, acrylic, charcoal, pastels and mixed media.
