George L Smyth began to seriously study photography upon his return from an extended trip to Wales in 1990. After experimenting to find his personal style, he decided to concentrate on pinhole, infrared and alternative process photography.

A member of the Bowie-Crofton Camera Club since 1992, the largest in the Washington-Baltimore area, he has won numerous awards, including Photographer of the Year. He is a regular lecturer on pinhole and infrared photography, and has offered numerous presentations to area clubs and PhotoPro Expo.
