Soma Sato is a Japanese user experience architect, and started his carrier as a photographer in 2004 when he was traveling in India as his first solo travel in order to consider an identity of Hokkaido, Japan. He moved to tokyo in 2005 and started woking in a commercial shooting studio environement. In 2009, he moved back to Hokkaido to photograph landscape of his home town Megumino with questions of the architectural style of Hokkaido and its identity (Photographic project: Looking Backward, 2009). For the question arose from the landscape where he spend his childhood, he started his life project for Japanese sculptuor Kan Yasuda to question what is a space, and this project led him not only to consider an idea of a space but also an idea of time. He studied in University College London for the purpose of understanding a space and its experience.
