Raymond Uzanas was a chemist working in the industrial diamond industry before he left the corporate world to pursue another world of writing, photography and adventure. His travels have taken him to all regions of the globe in search of interesting, scenic and culturally diverse places.

In this book, he has combined his interests in people and places to present a modern view of America's Deep South.

Ray was born in Hartford, CT and when not globe-trotting, resides in the seaside village of Stonington, CT
