I was born and reared in the foothills of the Sliabh Beagh uplands in North West Monaghan a short distance from the International border that separates the Republic of Ireland from Northern Ireland. My early education was commenced at Aughnashalvey High School and completed at Magherarny National School in the Smithboro Hills.

My formal or Secondary Education was completed at St.Macartan's College Monaghan before completing a Construction Industry Diploma at Colleges in Dundalk and Limerick. I now live in Cork with my wife and family.
