Terry C. Smith earned a bachelor's degree in communications at Stanford University and did graduate work in journalism and art at the University of Minnesota. While at Minnesota, he also taught visual communications and produced and directed public television programs in the arts.
In the mid-1960s, Mr. Smith worked as a broadcast journalist at CBS Television affiliates in San Francisco and Minneapolis.
In 1967, he co-founded MultiMedia Inc. in Minneapolis, writing, and producing film, video, multi-image and live stage productions for Eastman Kodak Company, 3M, BBDO Advertising, Better Homes & Gardens, Encyclopedia Britannica, Honeywell Aerospace, Jostens, and Northwest Airlines.
His photographs have appeared in national publications, including Travel & Leisure, Skin Diver and USA Today.
Mr. Smith lives with his wife, Karen Phillips, in Petaluma, where he is Editor and Publisher of The Petaluma Post newspaper.
