Michael Going has always had a relationship with the camera. First as a child model in New York City and then behind it, starting with a memorable photography class in junior high school. For many years as a commercial photographer he shot award winning assignments for corporate, advertising and editorial clients. In 1978 he began hand altering Polaroid SX-70 photographs leading to 28 years of creating an unique body of photos from around the world. Numerous profiles of his work appeared in Communication Arts, Photo Design, Photo District News and many others. He shot photo essays for Sports Illustrated, Time, Road and Track, American Way and many others. Corporate and advertising clients included Fireman's Fund Insurance, Hyatt Resorts and Princess Cruises. His work is in museums, corporate and many private collections. In 2006 Polaroid ceased making the film that made this work possible. An era ended. Going sells prints of his Polaroid work & teaches photography in Los Angeles.
