Edward Boccia

Edward Boccia, painter and poet, is Professor Emeritus, School of Fine Arts, Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri. His paintings are in public and private collections in the U.S.A., Europe, and South America. Boccia’s poetry is represented in many anthologies and journals, including Pudding House, Orbis, Eliot Review, Odessa, Black Mulit, California Quarterly, Blue Unicorn, and Webster Review. He has published seven chapbooks.

Edward Boccia has received many prizes and awards, including the Borsa di Studio for painting in Italy by the Italian Government, 1958–59. He was Knighted to the Cavaliereal Merito della Republica by the republic of Italy. St. Louis University made him Honorary Vice President in 1979 and awarded him with the Order of the Crown, King St. Louis, IX of France in 1990. Boccia was nominated for the Pushcart Prize for Moving the Still Life in 1998.
