A PhD epidemiologist by training, Mark Parascandola uses photography to explore patterns of movement in human populations, focusing on architecture as evidence of often-invisible social, environmental, and economic processes. Mark has family roots in the south of Spain, and his photographs of old movie sets constructed in the 1960s and 1970s have been exhibited in the U.S. and Spain under the title ‘Once Upon a Time in Almería’. His first photo book, 'Carabanchel'. was published in June 2014.
