an expanded version of my first book about my Vietnam experience, to include many of the letters I wrote home, recently re-discovered after forty years. I also have a collection of personal Christmas memory stories I've written over many years now, that I may publish as well. |

My experiences may not have been exactly unique, but they have been fun to bring back and write about. Every photo in my photo albums has a story, but they mean nothing if they are not shared. I happen to think cliches are wonderful -- one of my favorites is that a picture can tell a thousand words -- so I asked myself, why not get started? Who can tell my story better than myself, and what makes me think I will live forever? |

Hopefully, these stories will bring back memories of your own growing-up experiences, wherever and whatever those were. If that happens, I'd be happy to hear about it. Many people with whom I've shared these memories -- and others not included in this collection -- have responded by sharing their own stories of the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. Hearing those stories -- and everyone has at least one -- has been gratifying, and encouraging, for me, as a new writer. |
