Kev Filmore is an artist and teacher whose bond with young people has infused her work with vitality and a contemporary awareness. She teaches Photography at Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich, CT for the past twelve years. Previously, she worked as an art director and illustrator, co-founded Croton Cortlandt Center for the Arts, mentored at-risk students for Northern Westchester’s BOCES and taught numerous art and photography classes. Kev has been featured in The NY Times for her teaching, exhibitions and photojournalism work. Has been awarded an Eli and the Roger Hane Memorial Award for her Photo Illustration and was recipient of the 2005 Golden Light Award for Portraiture with her “Dreamers” series. She has received two NYS Foundation grants and was included in PDN’s 2010 Annual of Top Photographers. Kev spent the summer on Grand Street where she lives in Croton,NY making photographs and artwork depicting the street life, resulting in exhibit and book IT MIGHT JUST BE GRAND!
