R o b e r t K o w a l c z y k is a retired Professor and Chair of The Department of Intercultural Studies in the School of Literature, Arts and Cultural Studies of Kindai University, Osaka, Japan. He has also been a faculty member of Kyoto University of Foreign Studies and Nara Women's College.

Robert has been the Coordinating Director or Co-Director of the following projects and organizations, The Group of 21: Formed to provide support for the COP3 International Conference, which led to the signing of the Kyoto Protocol, Group 21: A three-part series of international, intergenerational symposia held at the Kyoto Museum for World Peace of Ritsumeikan University, Journey East: multi-cultural (Japan, China, Korea, Poland, and Russia) traditional music concerts and modern art exhibitions in Krakow and Moscow, His work in photography can be viewed at https://robertkowalczyk.zenfolio.com/ .
