I trained as a doctor and worked for many years in hospital medicine in London before moving to Devon, UK. Since then I have founded the Exeter Stress Clinic and also developed my passion for Fine Art, garden design and philosophy. The restoration of Helwell Barton has been an exciting and intensive project with my husband, the winemaker, Matthew Bernstein. I am now involved in a restoration of my current house 'Simcoe House' in Budleigh Salterton, Devon, the weekend house of the revered Georgian General John Graves Simcoe, founder of modern day Toronto in Canada. The location of sea and rural areas of Devonshire moorland and commons are integral to my work as an artist and writer.
