Prof. Hemalatha Burra, a scholar in Telugu and Sanskrit languages is a retired principal, Dean and professor of Sri Sathya Sai University, Andhra Pradesh , Hyderabad. Having served for more than three decades in that University, she retired in 1999 and later worked as consultant to Govt of Andhra Pradesh for five years. She immigrated to US during 2007 and has been living in Naperville. Prof Hemalatha has many books and publications both in Telugu and English to her credit. During her active service she guided many research students and served as expert member on academic and administrative boards of several universities and union public service commission. Apart from receiving the best alumni award during the centenary celebrations of the institution where she studied, Govt of Andhra Pradesh honored her with the prestigious award for meritorious teachers during 1979.
She is a well known speaker on All India Radio and also at various places in India and also US.
