Born 1951 in Chicago Illinois. Family moved to Denver shortly after. First career choice was as a jockey and did that for 9 years until I realized there was not a lot of future in that direction. Was very fortunate to be hired by the Denver Fire Department in 1985 and stayed with them for 21 years to retire the summer of 2007. Always artistic in small ways but did not start painting until in my late 40's. Found that I was intrigued with realism and when a painting really pulled me across the room it would invariably be done in egg tempera. Luckily found an instructor close by and began classes with him. Have been painting with egg tempera for 5 years now and still enjoying it immensely and am looking forward to continuing for many years to come!
