Born in Wales 1944. Gained Ph.D. in biochemistry at University of Wales, Cardiff in 1968 & joined Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries & Food in London in 1972. Appointed Chief Scientist (Food) in 1992 then took early retirement in 1996 to follow a new career. Keen amateur photographer from an early age & this developed into giving lectures to Photographic Societies & judging competitions including International Salons of Photography. Took up photography professionally in 1996. Specialized in live music photographing rock, blues & jazz concerts for Retna Pictures Ltd, an international picture agency. Went digital in 2002 & used a Nikon D3 for professional work. Now retired from music photography & living in Norfolk, England. Uses Leica M9 rangefinder camera for personal photography.
