Hart Halstead Brown is the great-grandson of Gibson A. Brown. Hart is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a major in History and a minor in Science Education. Hart grew up in Vernon, Texas, living four blocks from the old Yamparika Ranch homestead of Gibson A. Brown. He worked as a full time deputy sheriff for the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office in Norman, Oklahoma for fifteen years, achieving the rank of Captain. Hart currently is a teacher for Moore Public Schools in Moore, Oklahoma. Hart traces his lineage to Gibson through his father, Leon Hart Brown, Jr., who was an Air Force fighter pilot and civilian aviator, and his grandfather Leon Hart Brown, Sr. The latter graduated from the University of Oklahoma Law School in 1916 and practiced as an attorney in Oklahoma and Texas until his death in 1973 in Vernon.

Hart currently resides in Norman, Oklahoma with his wife Susie. They have a son (Josh) and a daughter (Heather) and three beautiful grand-children (Karlee, Madiso
