Mi biografía I was an elementary school teacher for several years before deciding to tutor full-time. I have always loved children's books and have been able to read my fair share on the job. I also love to work with paper and other artistic mediums. With that foundation, I always knew I would write a children's book at some point; that day finally came with the publication of A Day Without Toast.

I live in Michigan with my husband Chris and Miniature Schnauzer, Pancake. You can usually find the three of us enjoying our backyard or the wonderful nature trails in our area. I also like to travel, garden, read, and support the local businesses, restaurants and attractions.

I adore animals of all types and use them for my main inspiration in my art and writing. Therefore, I plan on donating a percent of my profits to a national wildlife organization.

Cosas que no me importa que sepan todos

Alerta del narrador ansioso: creo que mi próximo libro será sobre...
house visitors who won't leave! We've all experienced that before, haven't we?

I'm not going to let the secret out about who those visitors are yet because that would truly be a spoiler alert.
Todos necesitan saber acerca de estos autores y artistas...
I always read the newest John Grisham and Stephen L. Carter books because they are both extraordinary writers and their books keep me on the edge of my seat. Ari Weinzweig's Zingerman's Guide to Good Eating is a great read about the origins of really good food.

My favorite art treasures are decorative tiles and vases created by Michigan's own Pewabic Pottery and Motawi Tileworks. Michigan is also home to two of my favorite painters, Randall Higdon and Elizabeth Iamba Mullens.
Este libro es adictivo. Léalo (bajo su propia responsabilidad).
I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter books. I don't need to tell anyone how addictive they are, but I do think it is one of those series one could think about forever and continue to generate new theories and connections.

I have been reading Doris Kearns Goodwin's Team of Rivals, which has become more addictive than I would have originally thought. Even with all the literature and stories about Abraham Lincoln, there is always something you didn't know about the man and the era.
