Alerta del narrador ansioso: creo que mi próximo libro será sobre...
300 pages long! Kennebec, Part 2, Out of Maine, will continue to follow my New Portland Hopkins family (nearly withering away from disease and fear of marriage), the Norridgewock Bixby's (scads of them), the Madison Weston's, and the Vinalhaven Hopkins of Dr T & Polly, as they begin the American diaspora across this continent, fight in the Civil War, and either amass or squander fortunes, become famous and infamous, or just keep pitchin' them lobster pots out every morning!
Todos necesitan saber acerca de estos autores y artistas...
Mary Alden Hopkins (1876-1960) early feminist, Manhattan gadfly, official reporter for Henry Ford's "Peace Ship to Europe", and, with niece Doris Webster, America's 1st "self-help" authors. Serious works: "Dr Johnson's Lichfield", and "Hannah More and her Circle".
Artist Eric Hopkins, state artist of Maine, just google his name...he's the best! (also has son named Ian THEOPHILUS)
Sarah Bixby Smith, "Adobe Days", 1925. Still in print, my inspiration to tell the stories.
Este libro es adictivo. Léalo (bajo su propia responsabilidad).
"Close to Shore" by Michael Capuzzo, the true story that inspired Peter Benchley's "JAWS". I found it more riveting, as I believe all true stories should be (see "Kennebec: Part One")
