David Pyle currently serves as Publisher of the Art, Jewelry, and Yarn division for Interweave, a media company that includes the American Artist, Interweave Knits, and Jewelry Artist Magazine Groups. He splits his professional life between Colorado (where he lives - born and raised), Pennsylvania, and New York.
He's also a painter and photographer, having started his career as an artist and then studying chemistry, an intersection of disciplines that led to work as the Marketing Director for a major art materials manufacturer. He's published over 100 articles about art-making as well as a book on art materials (What Every Artist Needs to Know About Paints and Colors. 2000).
He always carries a camera and, when he can manage it, a paint box.
