My career as a musician has taken me all over the world. Mainly I have worked as a solo pianist but have also played in bands and groups. I also compose music having started out songwriting in the early 1970s. In the last twenty years I have been composing concert works including a piano concerto, works for solo piano and chamber music.
I was born in Glasgow, Scotland and grew up taking piano and clarinet lessons. My first love in music was jazz and I taught myself to play trumpet, but I have a very wide taste in music embracing almost everything, particularly if it is well performed.
Since 2002 I have lived in Milan, Italy with my partner, Manuela. We were old friends who met again after being out of touch for some years. I continue to write music occasionally while enjoying life in Italy.
